Senior Benefits

As seniors grow older, their needs begin to change. Sometimes, it may be necessary to use assistance from outside sources to meet special needs. Benefits are available throughout Northeast Arkansas. These benefits may include housing, food, transportation, energy, medical, or social assistance. Knowing who to call is often the key to accessing these services. The Center on Aging-Northeast specializes in evaluating needs and connecting seniors to services through individual counseling, connection to other resources and Benefits Check Up.

Medicare Part D - Prescription Drug Benefit help.

Private one-on-one consultation is offered to help Medicare recipients navigate the Medicare Drug program process. Counselors will determine what plan is the best for recipients with a personalized report and can also register them for the plans via the Medicare website. Appointments are necessary, so call ahead.

Consultation

A social worker or RN is available to meet privately for consultation with seniors and/or families and caregivers. Needs are evaluated and a plan established. This plan may include self-help or referrals to available community resources.

Benefits CheckUp

Benefits CheckUp is a free service through the National Council on Aging that is accessible through the Center on Aging-Northeast. This program helps to identify federal and state assistance programs that are available based on individual financial status. Whether it's financial assistance, health care, prescription drug assistance, housing or other programs, Benefits CheckUp will determine options that are available. Financial information is necessary, but name address, social security number and other personal information is not required. It only takes twenty minutes. This information may be accessed by personal visit, phone or mail.
